Maritime vulnerabilities

Maritime operations are completely dependent on GNSS signals and are therefore particularly vulnerable to their disruption. Hostile and even unintentional interference from these signals is a major risk to the efficiency and safety of maritime operations and can endanger the lives of seafarers.

The U.S. Maritime Administration has issued several advisories for GPS signal interference in the Eastern Mediterranean during the last two years. Coast Guard operations are also reporting jamming as a significant and grwoing problem.
